Genre Spotlight: Girl Groups of the 60s

If you know me personally you would know that I'm obsessed with the 60s. But most importantly...girl groups from the 60's!! If I had one wish, it would be to have been in a 60's girl group. How awesome would that have been?

Of course we're all familiar with The Supremes, but lets not forget the other fabulous ladies that rocked the airwaves during that decade. Like The Shirelles, The Marvelettes, The Chiffons, The Shangri-Las, The Crystals, The Ronettes, The Angels, The Cookies, The Orlons, The Toys, The Ad-Libs, The Velvelettes...okay you get the point!  With so many "Best of" albums out there it's kinda hard to find one that really captures all of these groups. But I found one! Rhino released a box set to celebrate the girl groups of the 60s "Girl Group Sounds; Lost & Found" including over 120 songs! And not just from groups. This 4 disc collection also includes tracks by Dusty Springfield, Carole King and my favorite Miss Mary Wells. This is a must add to your next Amoeba run!
