How is this band not signed?!?! I don't even need to give an explanation as to why you should check them out...just have a listen and see for yourself.

Hidden Gems: UK Invasion
Although this Summer's Blockbuster movies have been killing it (Best Summer in Years!) I'm still an indie girl at heart, and I wouldn't be doing this blog any justice if I didn't make mention to the little films that are hitting the big screens too.
Both are brought to us from over seas and both have been creating tons of buzz at film festivals...
First up, THE GUARD, starring Don Cheadle and Brendan Gleeson. "An unorthodox Irish policeman with a confrontational personality is teamed up with an uptight FBI agent to investigate an international drug-smuggling ring." Written and directed by John Michael McDonagh. If that last name looks familiar to you (to most of you it probably doesn't) that's because John is the brother to Martin McDonagh, the writer/director of one of my favorite movies "In Bruges." I'm really looking forward to this movie! If John is anything like his brother (which I'm hoping he is) then this movie is gonna be full of dry, sarcastic, rude humor...fingers crossed!
Next up, ATTACK THE BLOCK, starring Nick Frost and Jodie Whittaker. "A teen gang in South London defend their block from an alien invasion." Written and directed by Joe Cornish. Now I don't know too much about this film, but it's been popping up in every film magazine I read (Yes, I read film magazines...don't judge) and already has a huge cult following over seas. It looks like a fun adventure and I love that the cast includes some fresh face kids from London...
Both movies are in limited release today...enjoy :)

The wait is almost over!
And it's killing me!!
The album that brings the collaboration between two of hip-hop's finest finally has a release date. August 8th, Jay-Z & Kanye West "Watch the Throne"
They've already released a killer single "Otis" which samples Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness" and it's only an appetizer of what's to come!!!
But even more awesome than that, they've also released a mini documentary showing their relationship and the creative process it took to bring this album to life...history in the making!!

La-Di-Da
Saturday night never looked so good! I'm beyond excited that CINESPIA will be screening my all time favorite film "Annie Hall" this weekend under the stars. Now I can do without it being in a cemetery but I'll make an exception just this one time...it's ANNIE HALL for christ's sake!!
Annie: It's so clean out here (referring to Los Angeles)
Alvy: That's because they don't throw their garbage away, they turn it into television shows.
Summertime 2
It's about that time again...the soundtrack to your summer! Mick Boogie + DJ Jazzy Jeff are back with "Summertime 2" so just sit back and unwind :)
"I'm a new kind of Killa"
Everyone needs to get familiar with tUnE-yArDs. This album "Whokill" is fire...such a unique sound. Kind of Afro-electronic meets Rhythm & Blues...interesting combo? YES...worth the listen? DEFINITELY.
